High and Sustainable Performance

David Nikolich

Our Managing Director, David Nikolich is our founder and the creator of our award-winning learning and development programmes. We asked David for his thoughts on how our Cultural Transformation Programme can help companies achieve High and Sustainable Performance:

“Imagine working for a Company where the CEO inverts the archetypal structural pyramid and serves their people to serve their clients. Where the organisational vision, purpose and values are not just a collection of words for recital, but are carefully crafted paradigms to be truly lived. Where the aspiration of working within high performing teams is a regular focus and consistently realised.

For all of the above to exist, it has to be underpinned by a tangible and brilliant culture. Your culture is constant work in progress and just when you think it’s where you want it to be, it moves again within the shifting dynamic of business.

A brilliant culture is like a magnificently tendered garden. It doesn’t happen overnight, it takes a lot of attention from many people, though it can quickly become infiltrated with weeds if left unattended.

Don’t be fooled into thinking brilliant cultures are soft… they are not. People are still intentionally held to the highest account. Our experience also tells us that your culture is only as good as the worst behaviour you are willing to tolerate. Therefore, your lowest acceptable bar (deliberate or unintentional) acts as a vortex for others to gravitate towards.

You may be forgiven for thinking that perfect cultures are the stuff of legends or that mythical unicorn often referred to when chasing our work dreams. Although still extremely rare, we know these cultures do exist within business because we have helped create them!”
