How Does Inclusive Growth Translate Into The Workplace?
Nick Goddard
Inclusive Growth is a phrase I keep hearing as the recently elected new government focus on the task of achieving economic growth for Britain.
So; what is inclusive growth, and does it translate to the workplace?
ABSTRACT believe that ‘inclusive growth’ can only truly be achieved when leaders and managers first take ‘Inclusive Responsibility’ !
The International Monetary Fund says;
“Inclusive growth embodies the principle that wealth creation, economic freedom, and equal opportunity can coexist. It promotes the notion that a society can be free and equal while also pursuing long-term economic growth and well-being”.
In addition to this, one of
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals is about promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all.
A key aim of UK PLC is to secure a sustained increase in productivity growth.
The government believe this will only be achieved by championing the UK’s role as a global leader in financial services to deliver inclusive growth.
Other priorities include enhancing the international competitiveness of the UK’s financial services sector, reinforcing consumer protection and financial inclusion, leading the world in sustainable finance, embracing innovation and fintech as the future of financial services and reinvigorating capital markets.
"Deliver inclusive growth of the UK’s financial services sector by scalling regional financial centres alongside established hubs in London and Edinburgh and unlocking the full potential of the mutuals sector."
Labour's Plans For
Financial Services
The recent report ‘Enabling Growth Across the UK’ by The City UK, an industry-led body representing UK-based financial and professional services, says;
“Attracting, developing and re-skilling talent remains a critical factor to the success of the UK’s financial and related professional services industry”.
"At a national level, we welcome the creation of Skills England, which reflects our long-standing position that there needs to be greater mapping of, and planning for, the UK’s future skills needs."

The UK 2024 - The City UK
An inclusive workplace ensures equal opportunities for everyone to succeed and empowers all their people to contribute.
Business growth is the increase in a company's revenue, productivity and profitability over time. It’s not the only factor, of course, but empowering more of your people to be more effective, by harnessing their full potential, will help to fuel business growth. This sounds simple, but it isn’t easy!
What do ABSTRACT think?
ABSTRACT says that an organisation can, through continuous learning, regularly teach and update their leaders how to take 'Inclusive Responsibility' as a crucial part of their day-to-day role.
Being and acting inclusively is now an integral requisite for leaders carrying out their everyday duties to drive sustainable results.
Modern Day Leaders should consistently demonstrate ‘Inclusive Responsibility’ and must consistently be inclusive to think inclusive, and vice-versa.
How can ABSTRACT help?
We can help leaders to be both inclusive and focus on growth. The two should be symbiotic.
ABSTRACT’s Inclusive Responsibility Programme will cleverly navigate leaders through the mythical inclusive maze to leave them with a very clear plan of how they can begin filling in the gaps with ease. It will demonstrate where the inclusive gaps are within your organisation, assess the multi-generations in your workplace and how they could or would likely be impacted in the very near future.
ABSTRACT’s Business Growth Programmes will help you to build high performing teams, led by coaches, within a commercially driven culture, to gain new clients and better serve your existing ones.
Do you need our help to take this to the next level?
If so, we would love to consult with you and your team about how ABSTRACT can support your plans.
