Ireland launches Women in Finance Charter

Nick Goddard

The Irish Government’s Department of Finance has launched Ireland's first Women in Finance Charter, a collaboration between industry and Government to support the advancement of women in firms. The Charter forms part of the Ireland for Finance strategy, a whole of government initiative to develop their international financial services industry by 2025. Diversity is a key theme of this strategy.

The Charter has been developed by industry over the last two years and has been signed initially by number of leading financial services firms. The Charter is open to all financial services firms operating in Ireland and we expect others will now follow.

Signatories of the Charter have committed their organisations to improving the number of women in management and board level positions to achieve better gender balance and a more inclusive working environment.

For many years, ABSTRACT have been working with organisations in UK, Ireland and internationally who want to take positive, practical action to support more women and minority groups into leadership positions. After all, our vision is to make the corporate world a fairer and better place through our learning and development programmes.

Our career management development programme, ACCELERATE, won the Diversity Initiative Of The Year in 2019 at the Women in Finance Awards in Dublin. The focus of ACCELERATE is on engaging our delegates to aspire and explore beyond their initial aspirations and expectations. We want more organisations to seriously invest in the middle to senior tier of business personnel, providing the tools and inspiration for people to manage their own careers successfully. Like all ABSTRACT programmes, ACCELERATE is designed to be interesting and to have application - with practical tips that delegates can apply both personally and in the workplace.

Please get in touch or contact a member of the ABSTRACT team to find out more.
