At ABSTRACT, we took a strategic decision in 2019 to explore putting ourselves up for an award and seeing what sort of experience this would be.
A very fruitful and rewarding one as it turns out after a momentous evening last Thursday when we won two awards at two different events.
Our career development programme, ACCELERATE won Diversity Initiative of the Year Award at the Women in Finance Awards Ireland in Dublin and Sue Liburd MBE, our Non Executive Director, won Champion of Inclusion Award at the Inclusion Companies Awards in Manchester. What a night!
It really was a team effort for both these awards but especially the award for ACCELERATE as it is brilliant that all the hard work that has gone into developing such a successful programme has been recognised for making a difference and that is why we do what we do; Changing Peoples' Lives.
We have an amazing team of associates who deliver ACCELERATE with such enthusiasm and professionalism and we would not have won this award without them. We are so proud to have Sue in our business and delighted that she has received recognition for championing diversity and inclusion for many years now.
The reaction in the room proved how respected Sue is with her work in D&I and she really is a fantastic role model for inclusion, striving to 'move the needle further' as she said in her acceptance speech.
