A charitable end to the year with Spifox

Nick Goddard

With the cancellation of fundraising events coupled with the closure of charity shops thanks to Covid-19, it comes as no surprise that charities have been hit hard.

One of the many charities that has felt the effects of this year’s events (or non-events as the case may be!) is Spifox - Scottish Property Industry Festival of Xmas

Spifox was first launched in 1983, to raise funds for disadvantaged children and young people in Scotland.

ABSTRACT is proud to support such a worthwhile cause especially as our CEO, Andy Nicol, has hosted the Spifox Xmas Lunch in Edinburgh for over a decade- sporting a range of outrageous fancy dress outfits over the years.

The lunch is the largest charity lunch in Scotland with several companies using it as their work Christmas party. On 18th December Spifox would normally be looking forward to welcoming 1600 people from across the property and construction industry in Scotland for entertainment, fundraising, and festive cheer at the EICC.

Sadly, this year there cannot be such event. No work colleagues merrily sipping on the fizz and not a Christmas cracker in sight.

But fear not! Spifox has an ingenious plan - The 12 Spifox days of Christmas - starting from on 3rd December and running to the 18th, which would have been the day of the event.

During this time, each working day, Spifox will release a short video via the Spifox Group on LinkedIn and their YouTube channel. Viewers can donate via the Spifox website and in return will be sent a heart-shaped badge as a special thank you.

In addition to this, Spifox is hosting an online auction. Details can be found on their website.

Spifox need our help more than ever, this year, so please show your support by donating or simply sharing their social media posts and videos to raise awareness for this excellent cause. We have donated what we would normally have spent on our table for the event but there are many ways to get involved.

To keep up to date with all that Spifox does please connect with them on LinkedIn or visit the website.
